A big "thank you" to the staff and everyone else employed at Hotel Las Palapas. My family and I stayed April6-14 of 2007. It was our third trip to your little piece of paradise,(amongst all of the new construction), and we have stayed in No. 30 and 31 each time. Never were we disappointed in our time spent there, except to hear that in the too near future things will be different. There's already too many new buildings going up...The big attraction at Las Palapas is the "peace and quiet", heavenly grounds, un-crowded beach, and solitude. There just aren't enough places like yours left, and there should be, because there still are a lot of us that don't need the many swimming pools, tennis courts, fancy restuarants, and crowds that you find at those condo type places. We are just so glad that we had this chance to spend our vacation with you. Our pictures will give us some fond memories. Thank you to all involved in our pleasant stay with you.

Hallo Las Palapas, wir sind inzwischen leider wieder in Deutschland. Aber 3 Wochen Mexico-Urlaub binden natürlich viel mehr Gedanken und Erinnerungen als 3 Monate zuhause. Deshalb bin ich auch noch meist mit meinen Gedanken in der Karibik. Und ich möchte mich nochmals bedanken für die wunderbare Zeit im Las Palapas. Seit unserem ersten Urlaub vor 14 Jahren sind wir richtige Fans dieser wunderbaren Anlage geworden. Herzliche Grüsse an das Team in der Rezeption, den Kellnern – besonders "Willy" und den unermüdlichen Gärtnern, die das Gelände zu einem sehenswerten botanischen Garten gemacht haben. Thanking you for our wonderful stay at your very beautiful resort. The staff made it particulary enjoyable - evidenced in the friends we met during our brief stay who have been returning for many years. ...Nun sind wir schon wieder 1 Woche in unserem grauen, regnerischem Norddeutschland. Wir möchten uns bei allen in Ihrer Oase der Ruhe bedanken. Die beiden "Banditos" im Anhang hatten immer gleich einen Tisch für 5 Personen bereit und waren erfreut, wenn wir uns auf spanisch vom Vortag wieder etwas gemerkt hatten und unsere Bestellung/Zimmernummer nicht auf deutsch oder englisch sagen konnten. Angenehm war auch die Regelung mit dem Internetzugang. Da nur unsere Tochter mit spanisch vertraut ist, war es für uns schön das immer einer an der Rezeption war, mit dem wir kleine Problemchen (z.B."Mückenvertreibungsmittel") in deutsch klären konnten. Mis amigos de Las Palapas,
He estado los dos últimos períodos de vacaciones de verano de mis hijos ahí con ustedes, o sea en julio de 2004 y julio-agosto 2006. Han sido vacaciones maravillosas por muchos factores. Por supuesto uno de ellos es la inigualable belleza de la naturaleza que ustedes tienen a la vista todos los días. Y no sólo a la vista también al tacto, al oído al gusto. Excelente comida, animación musical etc. Pero quizá una de las cosas más importantes es el carácter permanentemente amigable del equipo colaboradores en Las Palapas. Los jardineros, meseros, amas de llaves, recepcionistas etc. siempre son muy amables y nos hacen sentir muy confortables. Sigan conservando este espíritu de servicio y simultáneamente de sencillez.
Felicidades!!!. Esto lo escribo desde la Ciudad de México en pleno día de trabajo y ya me hace falta regresar a Playa del Carmen. Saludos. Por favor comenten esto con la gente.

We stayed at your hotel in early December and had a great time, despite the so-so weather. All of your staff was very friendly and helpful. We wanted to share these photos we took of your grounds crew when they were removing a tree. We are both foresters, and so found it very interesting. Despite our limited spanish, & their limited english, they explained what was happening and let us take some photos. We were really impressed by what a lovely garden spot your hotel was in the midst of all the development. A beautiful oasis. The grounds crew and gardeners do a great job! Please thank them for us.

Liebe Frau Simona, seit unserem Aufenthalt im Las Palapas sind nun schon viele Wochen vergangen. Morgen feiern wir Weihnachten, aber weder in einem winterlichen Deutschland noch unter der wärmenden Sonne von México! Bei unserem Aufenthalt in Ihrem Hotel hatten wir leider nicht das Wetter, das die "Riviera Maya" verspricht. Aber die wunderbare natürliche Atmosphäre der Anlage und die echte Herzlichkeit aller Mitarbeiter hat uns dafür entschädigt und gleichermaßen nachhaltig beeindruckt. Ein möglichst baldiger weiterer Aufenthalt ist also unser Wunsch, besonders in dieser dunkeln, nasskalten Jahreszeit.
Für die herzliche Gastfreundschaft in Ihrem Hause möchten wir am Vorabend des Weihnachtsfestes allen Mitarbeitern des Las Palapas nochmals danken, besonders Ihnen (für Ihre freundliche wie kompetente Hilfestellung), sowie Jessica, Alberto, (Don)Juan (mit dem guten Namensgedächtnis), Cristy (aus Palenque; nachträglichen Dank für den "elephant"), Faustino (der morgens geradezu künstlerisch die „huevos mexicanos“ zelebrierte), den technischen Mitarbeitern (die unseren "Dachschaden" reparierten) und Juan de Mata (der immer ein freundliches "hola" auf den Lippen hatte). Herzliche Grüsse auch an Francisco (aus Concepción, den wir am Flughafen in Cancun kennen gelernt und dann am letzten Tag im Las Palapas unverhofft wieder getroffen haben) und last but not least an Ihren Chef (er darf stolz auf diese tolle Mannschaft sein!).

Hallo ihr Lieben aus dem Hotel im Paradies,
bevor ich heute Feierabend mache, wollte ich euch noch ein schönes Weihnachtsfest und ein Superjahr 2007 wünschen. Wir waren vom 25.11. - 07.12. bei euch und was soll ich sagen, wir waren begeistert. Ich bin für meinen Teil schon viel in der Welt rumgekommen und hab schon viele Hotels besucht, aber das von euch war am besten. Der Erholungswert war 1A. Ich hätte am Anfang nicht gedacht, das ich mal ohne Telefon, Handy, Fernseher und Computer auskommen würde, aber es ist möglich und dafür habt vielen lieben Dank.
Sicherlich liegt das auch am Klima und der parkähnlichen Gestaltung des Hotels, aber auch am Personal, welches ich noch nie so nett und freundlich erlebt habe. Ich war einigemal tauchen zuletzt am 06.12. mit vier grossen Bullenhaien. Da waren Lou und Jessica doch sehr neidisch auf diese Begegnung. Das war doch mal ein Highlight zum Abschluss eines perfekten Urlaubs.
Ich hab mir die Adresse vom Hotel gut aufgeschrieben, weil wir uns bestimmt mal wieder sehen werden. Als wir dann in Hamburg angekommen sind, wäre ich am Liebsten gleich wieder umgedreht. Nasskaltes Schauerwetter hat uns bei 5°C begrüsst. Nun hat uns die Arbeit wieder und ich muss noch oft an euch denken, nicht zuletzt weil ich mir schöne Bilder von eurer Anlage ausgedruckt habe und neben dem PC gestellt habe.
Also, ich wünsche euch allen ein super schönes Weihnachtsfest und ein gesundes, erfolgreiches Jahr 2007. Und natürlich Glück und Gesundheit. Spezielle Grüsse an Lou und Jessica, die uns immer wieder mit neuen Tipps und Vorschlägen das Leben bei euch versüßten. Vielen Dank, und liebe Grüße aus Hamburg.

Hola, liebes Palapas-Team, sehr geehrter Herr Rüegg! Zurück in der Schweiz möchte ich mich für die Gastfreundschaft in eurem wunderbaren Hotel bedanken. Es war eine für mich wunderschöne und entspannende Zeit, sei es am Palmenstrand, sei es in der Hängematte oder beim Frühstücksbuffet oder bei der Relax-Massage im Wellness-Center. Das Palapas war für mich während neun Tagen eine Oase der Ruhe und des Energietankens im stressigen Berufsalltag zuhause. Noch fast höre ich das Rauschen des Meeres... DANKE!! Ich drücke euch ganz fest die Daumen, dass ihr im Konkurrenzkampf mit den anderen Hotelanlagen und Resorts in Playa del Carmen bestehen könnt - einerseits für euch, anderseits auch für mich. Denn so habe ich die Chance in einem oder zwei Jahren wiederzukommen. Am liebsten würde ich schon heute wieder buchen... Die feste Absicht besteht auf jeden Fall. Nur weiss man ja nie, wie sich der Lauf der Dinge entwickeln wird. Geht euren Weg des Charmes, der Gastfreundschaft und der Qualität weiter ihr seid einzigartig!

My name is Peter Jaccarino, my girlfriend (Emily Stern) and I just spent a night at Las Palapas hotel on September 16, 2006 and completely fell in love with it. In fact we loved it so much that we are planning, with Tere Espinosa, to host our wedding at Las Palapas in May 2007! We are very excited to share with our family and friends, the beauty and tranquility that is Las Palapas! We look forward to returning!

Wir haben im Las Palapas zehn wunderbare Tage verbringen dürfen! Für das gute Wetter kann niemand etwas, aber der fantastische Service und vor allem die Freundlichkeit von der Rezeption bis hin zum Gärtner sucht seinesgleichen. Auch die Freizeitmöglichkeiten am nicht zu vollen Strand inklusive der tollen Tauchbasis und der Möglichkeit Angeln zu fahren (teuer aber sehr lohnenswert, am besten zu viert buchen und noch Schnorcheln gehen!) haben uns überzeugt. Das Las Palapas ist das erste Ferienhotel, das ich wirklich weiterempfehlen kann! Gefühlte fünf Sterne.

Bonjour à tous! Nous avons passé de merveilleuses vacances à Playa del Carmen, de vraies vacances de rêve! Las Palapas est un hôtel MAGNIFIQUE où il fait bon vivre, on y serais bien resté encore quelques semaines. Le service était impeccable et tout le team formidable! Nous avons adoré! Une chose est sûre... nous y reviendrons! Un grand merci tout particulier à Thomas, Julia et Maripaz de la réception pour nous avoir conseillé pour les excursions, Juan, Manuel, Alberto, Willy, Luis et Francisco qui nous ont servis comme des rois. Un grand bravo à l'équipe de cuisine qui nous a préparé d'excellents menus (sopa de Lime en particulier ;o) ). Un tout grand merci et un bonjour de la Suisse où il faisait plutôt froid lors de notre retour (11°).

Die ruhige Lage, der traumhafte Strand mit dem türkisfarbigen Meer, dank dem Tauchshop schöne Schnorchel und Tauchplätze gesehen… und das feine Essen liessen uns vieles vergessen! my husband and i stayed for one week 6/3-6/10 06. ( which was to short) we can not express to you enough how much we enjoyed your little (heaven on earth)! we were greeted every mourning by such a pleasant staff for breakfast (it was over the top) and went about our day with privacy and yet if we ever needed anything it was done. (hardly ever diD we need a thing) the beach bar was so friendly and we met some very nice guest from all over. after an evening (beyond my wildest expectations) on 5th ave. at night we were entertained and had the best conversations with Ubaldo the evening bar tender/friend. he really tought us alot and made us feel like home. your staff was so great and we have been traveling often. you also had a program which you had college students work there which they could not have done enough for us (yvonne) and your two students (which i appologise for forgetting their names). again, i can't thank you enough for making this trip better than anything i could have fantisized. also the tours you suggested were perfect. thanks again

Hola from two Londoners who are sadly missing cabana 103 which was our home from home on our holiday to Playa Del Carmen in late April. Of course we are also missing the lush grounds and the glorious white sandy beach. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Las Palapas which was enhanced by the friendly staff who always said ‘hola’ with a smile and looked after us very well indeed. The relaxed and welcoming atmosphere and the ‘get away from it all’ feel of the hotel was just what we needed, close to the nightlife of Fifth Avenue but far enough away so that it didn’t interfere with the relaxing atmosphere of the hotel, be it lying under a beach palapa or swinging lazily in the hammock on the veranda. We would definitely stay there again on any trip to the Yucatan – after all, we have yet to explore the nature trail!

Liebes Team des Las Palapas, das unser diesjähriger Jahresurlaub rundum gelungen war, dazu habt ihr maßgeblich beitgetragen, die gesamte Anlage ist wunder-wunderschön, das Service perfekt das Zimmer tadellos (die Hängematte super-entspannend) mit wem auch immer wir zu tun hatten, jeder war freundlich und hilfesbereit und an dieser Stelle gleich ein extra-dickes Lob an die fleißigen Hände in der Küche, die jeden Tag diese tolle Essen hinzaubern ... Es gibt nichts, das wir uns anders gewünscht hätten - DANKE an alle, die dazu beigetragen haben, dass die schönsten Tage im Jahr wirklich die Schönsten wurden, wir werden noch lange davon zerren. Liebes Team vom Las Palapas,
wir sind schon das 3. mal auf der Insel Jucatan, um unseren Urlaub dort zu verleben und weil auch unser Sohn Stefan mit Mexikanischer Ehefrau und 6jährigem Töchterchen Ana-Juliette in Playa del Carmen lebt. In ihrem Haus waren wir das erste mal und waren hellauf begeistert von der schönen Anlage und der Freundlichkeit ihrer Mitarbeiter. Nächstes Jahr sind wir wieder hoffentlich ihre Gäste, aber dann im Dezember oder Februar, der April war für uns etwas zu "heiß" vom Wetter. Herzliche Grüße

We stayed at Las Palapas from March 1st, 2006 to March 6, 2006 and enjoyed very much these relaxing days after a 10 days trip from Mexico City to Cancun. Our cabana was a dream in a tropical garden. The clean and well equipped beach with the blue bright water of the sea was the best place on the sea, we have seen in Mexico.You have a great restaurant, where all the meals are a real pleasure. Thanks to all your friendly staff. Simply Paradise...is the best, we can say about Las Palapas. We will come back and visit again Las Palapas, when we are in Yucatan. Inge & Peter Haechler

Our family stayed at Hotel Las Palapas for a week in March 2006. We had a wonderful time during our stay. The hotel staff was very friendly & welcoming. The accomodations are first class. The Mexican Buffet was fantastic! We ate all our meals at the hotel, they were prepared & presented in the traditions of a 5 star restaurant, each and every meal was excellent. The beach area, pool, excercise room, and gardens are beautiful. This was truely the best vacation hotel we ever stayed at. It is very relaxing and comfortable. All the staff is very friendly and helpful. We plan to return to Las Palapas again and often. Thank you all for making our family vacation the best.

Hallo Las Palapas - Team, wir verbrachten Anfang Februar diesen Jahres im Anschluß an eine Rundreise leider nur 5 Tage im Las Palapas und waren begeistert! Eine so schöne Anlage hatten wir (vor allem nach WILMA) gar nicht erwartet... wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt in unserer Cabana. Der Strand war wunderschön und sehr ruhig, nicht so überfüllt. Frühstück und Abendessen waren prima, besonders gefallen hat uns das Buffet am Strand (mittwochs). Das Personal war sehr freundlich, besonders Ubaldo an der Strandbar und sein Cocktail "Ticket to Fly" :-) Wir werden das Hotel weiterempfehlen! Liebe Grüße Gunda & Andreas (Cabana 24)

Wir verbrachten zwei wunderschöne Tage in Eurem bezaubernden Hotel - bis Wilma kam… Unsere "Gruppe" (Kuoni-Reisende) wurde nach Uxmal evakuiert, wo wir fast eine ganze Woche lang festsassen, bis wir über Merida nach Hause in die Schweiz fliegen konnten. Da unsere Zeit bei Euch natürlich viel zu kurz war und wir auch von der Umgebung noch überhaupt nichts gesehen haben (ausser Uxmal…), wollen wir so schnell wie möglich wieder kommen! Wir wünschen Euch alles Gute und hoffen auf ganz bald wieder ganz viele Gäste!

Liebes Las Palapas Team,
wir hatte zwei sehr schöne erholsame Wochen bei euch erlebt, bis dann am Abreisetag Hurrikan Wilma kam und wir nicht mehr nach Hause geflogen wurden und somit bei euch bleiben durften. Gemeinsam haben wir dann mit euch Wilma überstanden und nachdem dieser dann vorüber gezogen war, habt ihr für eure verbliebenen Gäste einmaliges geleistet. Wir denken unter anderem auch an die Verpflegung, hier konnte man nicht mit so viel Variantenreichem Essen rechnen, genauso wie unermüdlich die Wiederherstellung der Anlage und Zimmer vorangegangen ist. Unsere Hochachtung! Wir hoffen ihr kommt nun wieder langsam zum Alltag und wünschen euch weiterhin alles Gute für die Zukunft. Wenn wir wieder mal in das Gebiet der Riviera Maya kommen dann mit Sicherheit wieder zu euch ins Las Palapas

Hallo. Wir sind letzten Donnerstag Nachmittag in die Schweiz zurückgekehrt. Es waren 2 wunderschöne Ferienwochen, dass am Abreisetag Wilma kommt, konnte ja eh keiner voraussehen. Am Flughafen in Merida war das perfekte Chaos, ja fast Anarchie. Wir standen 14 Stunden um ein Ticket zu ergattern. Wie es im Moment aussieht, weiss ich nicht mal, da in unseren Medien leider nichts mehr berichtet wird. Wir beide Danken Euch recht herzlich für die Zeit bei Euch. Uns hat es sehr gut gefallen. Ich meinerseits würde eher heute als morgen wieder kommen, meine Freundin braucht sicherlich noch ein bisschen Zeit um das Erlebte zu verarbeiten.
Ganz toll fanden alle am letzen Dienstag, wie in kurzer Zeit das Essen zubereitet war. Natürlich konnte ich schon von Euch schwärmen und Werbung für Euch machen. Denke es wäre schön, wenn möglichst bald die Feriengäste wieder erscheinen und Euch Devisen ins Land bringen.

Der Februar 1994 ist lange her und doch denken wir immer wieder an die Tage im Las Palapas, einem Paradies auf Erden. Wir denken noch heute gern an unsere Hochzeitsreise im Februar 1996 zurück. Und erzählen noch heute von den schönsten 2 Wochen Urlaub, die wir je hatten. Nun, nach Wilma, denken wir unentwegt daran, wie es Euch und den Menschen in Playa del Carmen geht. Ist viel beschädigt ? Wir haben schon oft daran gedacht wieder zu Euch zu kommen. Leider habt ihr kein Platz für uns mit 3 Kindern, oder ? Wie geht es den Menschen auf Cozumel? Wir haben auch diese Insel in wunderschöner Erinnerung. Hoffentlich erholt sich die Natur schnell wieder. Uns kamen die Tränen, als wir in den Sondersendungen im TV sahen, die zeigten, mit wieviel Kraft dieser Wirbelsturm gewütet hat. Hallo Las Palapas, 1990 waren wir bei euch im Eröffnungsjahr. Auch wir mussten vor einem Hurrikan evakuiert werden, aber dieser hat glücklicherweise in letzter Stunde die Richtung geändert. 1990 präsentierte sich der Garten von Las Palapas sehr karg, die Palmen waren kleine Setzlinge, also nichts vom jetzigen Urwald. Trotzdem haben wir unseren 4 tägigen Urlaub sehr genossen, zumal wir uns das 1. Mal von der 3 monatigen Reiserei erholen konnten.
Was wir im Jahre 2000 vorgefunden haben hat uns fast die Sprache verschlagen. Ein üppig bewachsene wunderschöne Anlage und eine Playa das man in 10 Jahren Abwesenheit nicht wiedererkennen konnte. Umsomehr drücken wir die Daumen, dass die Schäden nicht so sehr gravierend sind und das der wunderschöne Garten erhalten geblieben ist. Viele liebe Grüsse aus Schweiz

Nous sommes venus en début septembre et votre hotel nous a laissé un souvenir de paradis. Nous vous en remercions et c'est tout naturellement que nous vous donnons tout notre soutien à la suite de la catastrophe naturelle qui a frappé Playa del Carmen et tout le Yucatan. Nous pensons très fort à vous à tout votre staf qui fut si accueillant (de l'acceuil à la sécurité en passant par les jardiniers) nous éspèrons que l'ouragan ne vous à pas trop frappé ni votre hotel ni votre personnel ni le magnifique écosystème dans lequel vous vous ètes implanté. Nous n'hésiterons pas à faire de la publicité pour votre hotel et nous vous souhaitons une très bonne continuation..

Wir sind heute nach einem langen Flug zu Hause angekommen und denken schon jetzt wehmütig an die Traumferien bei Euch zurück: Sehr feines Essen, super aufgeräumte und geputzte Zimmer und eine traumhaft schöne Anlage liessen die letzten Tage wirklich zu einem Traumurlaub werden. Auch mit der Tauchschule Cyan-Ha waren wir ausserordentlich zufrieden. Wir waren wohl nicht das letzte Mal bei Euch!

Nous étions à l'hôtel lors du passage de l'ouragan Emily le 17/07/05 et nous voudrions remercier et féliciter le personnel pour son sang froid et son efficacité. Tout a été mis en œuvre pour nous mettre à l'abri cette nuit là dans les conditions les meilleures possibles (comparés à d'autres, nous étions très chanceux). Le lendemain, malgré les dégâts dans l'hôtel, le directeur a fait en sorte que nous puissions venir prendre le petit déjeuner "normalement" dès 10h. Belle leçon de volonté ! Mais nous garderons avant tout le souvenir d'un hôtel paradisiaque. La galerie photos sur le site nous donnait envie, la réalité est encore bien plus belle : le chant des oiseaux, les écureuils, les singes, les chambres spacieuses, les hamacs sur le balcon, la belle plage, le jardin très soigné, l'ambiance tropicale, les dimensions "humaines" de l'hôtel. Voilà un séjour inoubliable !

Es hat wirklich alles zu 100% gestimmt um erholsame Ferien im wunderschönen Mexico zu geniessen. Der Aufenthalt in Ihrem Hotel war das Beste was ich bis jetzt vom Service und allem Drumherum erlebt habe. Das Essen in Ihrem Hotel war sehr gut, die riesige Auswahl am Morgenbuffet und am Strand. Die Umgebung und die Ruhe im Hotelareal selber war einzigartig, Erholung pur. Vorallem auch allen MitarbeiterInnen des Palapas möchte ich ein riesiges Kompliment aussprechen für Ihre angenehme, höfliche und humorvolle Art, die sie gegenüber den Gästen haben. Viele Grüße an das gesamte Team des Las Palapas, wir haben hier zu viert vom 25.07.04 - 08.08.04 einen wunderschönen traumhaften Urlaub verbracht.Auch wenn ich am 1.Tag ärgerlich war, da kein Zimmer mehr frei war, war dies nur, weil ich mich monatelang auf dieses Hotel gefreut habe. Aber am 2. Tag hatten wir unsere schöne Cabana und es war wie im Paradies,wie man kaum noch findet.Keine Hektik und nervende Animation, nur unvergessliche romantische Abende am Strand bei Mariachimusik.Vom Essen bis zur Sauberkeit, Freundlichkeit und Idylle- es war alles super. Falls wir wieder in Mexico sind, dann nur in diesem Hotel. Vielen Dank an das gesamte Team des Las Palapas für einen traumhaften Urlaub.

Estuvimos en Las Palapas en agosto del 2004. Recomendamos encarecidamente este hotel. Es uno de los mejores en que hemos estado nunca. Está en la mejor zona de Playa del Carmen. Cerca del centro pero con la trnauilida de no estar en el centro. La arena y la playa son las mejores de la zona. El hotel es excelente. El servicio es inmejorable. El personal es atento, servicial, y respetuoso a la vez. Justo como debe ser. Todos, Willy, Manuel, Juan, el gerente Pierre extremadamente amables, serviciales, y atentos a cada detalle. We recomend this hotel. Is one of the best we ever met. Located in the best part of the beach in term of beach and sand quality. It is near the center but not in the noisy center. Everybody at the hotel is very friendly, helpfull, and respectfull. They pay atention to all the details to make you feel great. The best in Playa Carmen.

We had such an unforgettable time and so did every single one of our wedding guests. The wedding was beautiful and just as we imagined. The food is lovely and the Mariachi band is absolutely amazing. Everybody on the staff goes above and beyond the call of duty and made us feel welcome and comfortable for the entire two weeks. We especially appreciate those who joined in the spontaneity of the midnight swim, after the wedding dinner was over, by bringing the rest of the champagne down on ice as well as glasses! Das Personal 1a! - Die Be-sitzer angenehm und freundlich! - Das Management im Umgang mit Kunden nicht angenehm! Das Garden DeLuxe?? Zimmer (wel-ches wir bewohnten) bodenmaessig! sauber, aber ansonsten sehr renovierungsbeduerftig! Die Preise ueberteuert und fuer die kommende Saison u. E. nicht! gerechtfertigt. Die Ruhe wurde sehr oft durch Musiklaerm benachbarter Hotels empfindlich gestoert! Genug des Meckerns! - Trotz erheblichen Neubaus in der Nachbarschaft immer noch ein "Fleck" der Ruhe und Gelassenheit und die SUPER Freundlichkeit des Personals machte vieles wett! - und ueberwiegend darauf basiert das Positive! Ein Unternehmen steht und faellt mit den Mitarbeitern! Just came back yesterday from Las Palapas and already are missing it. The children woke up this morning with the expectation of freshly squeezed orange juice, exotic fruits, hash brown, quesadillas, omelet and delicious croissants. Well, today we had bagels! We loved our week-long stay at Las Palapas. The staff is very courteous and friendly, the facility, including the beach, beautiful, well kept and clean, and the food was excellent. What would really make it close to paradise FOR EVERYONE though, is to modify it minimally so it becomes more handicap-friendly. We had minor difficulties getting the wheelchair through the two steps to the veranda and the additional step to the room. The same configuration limited our access to the clubhouse and the pool. Luckily the restaurant was accessible through the back door, thanks to the ramp from the reception lobby to the gardens. Additional ramps will also make the access easier for families with children in strollers and for Las Palapas staff rolling the luggage (or the fridge or the additional bed, etc.)! Overall an excellent relaxing vacation, yet close enough to the active night life of Playa del Carmen. We highly recommend Las Palapas!

Karin und Roland sagen Euch herzlichen Dank für 14 Tage traumhaft erholsamen Urlaub im Las Palapas. Wir haben die Freundlichkeit und Gelassenheit sehr genossen. Die tropische Atmosphäre in dem wunderbaren Garten mit den netten Bungalows, den üppigen Pflanzen und einigen " seltsamen" Tieren hat es uns angetan. Und es war für uns immer wieder ein Freude nach ausgiebigen Spaziergängen oder erholsamen Faulenzen am weiten Strand an der herrlichen Strandbar die "Happy Hour" Drinks zu genießen. Natürlich haben wir in den 14 Tagen auch ausgiebig mit dem Tauchcenter "Cyan-Ha" die Unterwasserwelt und Cenoten erkundet. Wir freuen uns, dass es so ein wunderschönes Hotel neben den übrigen Hotel-Burgen noch gibt. Unserer Empfehlung: "Beim nächsten mal wieder!"

Hola, nach 1995 freuen wir uns nun auf unseren zweiten Urlaub im Las Palaps Ende Oktober 2003. Diese Site mit den herrlichen Fotos steigert unsere Vorfreude. Nach 8 Jahren noch "Bekannte" wie z.B. Willy und Luis im Team zu sehen finden wir toll. Im November 2000 hatte es uns in ein all- inclusive Hotel in Mexico verschlagen. Aber ein Ausflug zum Strand am Las Palapas und eine Coco Loco mit frischer Blüte aus der Cocos-Nuss haben uns überzeugt - hier war es schöner. Wir freuen uns! Adios

As a tropical holiday destination, Las Palapas is true paradise. We found out about this beautiful resort on the internet. When scouting the place out, we were impressed by the unique layout and location of the property, and the Cabana-style accommodation. When we saw pictures of all of the staff on the internet, it was clear to us that this place was very proud of their employees and that they promoted outstanding service. To us, service is #1 on a vacation. When we arrived, we received a warm welcome from the staff and from the people staying there. Everyone was so friendly, relaxed and happy. We were soon settled in our Cabana - a Garden Deluxe unit located near the back of the jungle, which was very private, beautiful and spacious. We then headed for the beach. On the way to the beach, you walk through a stunningly beautiful landscape of a variety of tropical trees, shrubs and flowers. Hibiscus and tropical birds are abundant. Cabanas are interspersed all along the way of the massive grounds. Once you get to the pool area, you can see the ocean through the palm trees. Every view is absolutely amazing. There are more Cabanas right on th beach. The beach has pure white, very fine sand. The ocean is a tri-colored, unbelivably clear turquoise. When the seagulls fly low over the water, their bellies are illuminated the turquoise color of the sea. There are pelicans. You can see the island of Cozumel from the beach. There is a very nice lady on the beach who makes pottery that you can paint. There are Palapas on the beach and lounge chairs so that you are totally comfortable for an entire day on the beach, sun or shade. You can have a massage in privacy right on the beach. The sand is very clean and groomed early each morning. We walked many kilometers up and down the beach and saw no other area that was kept as clean and was a private as Las Palapas'. Ubaldo at the beach bar is a very nice young man, and makes extremely fine margaritas. There are 2 different happy hour sessions, so the drinks work out to be quite reasonable. For the first 10 days, we opted for a rate that included breakfast and supper. The first night we arrived, dinner was served on the beach. An very palatable buffet spread that included the best Ceviche we've ever tasted. A live Mariachi band serenaded us. I thought I had died and gone to heaven. Actually, I felt like this many times throughout our 2-week stay. The food was excellent, the service outstanding. We had virtually no decisions to make. Everything was taken care of. We traveled to Tulum one day, to Isla Mujeres another day, and to Merida for a weekend. Isla Mujeres is a MUST. Go to Garrifon Park there. During our last 3 nights at Las Palapas, we ate supper in various excellent restaurants in the beautiful town of Playa del Carmen. We pretty much stayed at the resort the rest of the time. If you've ever been to Jasper in Canada, this place is the Jasper Park Lodge of the Carribean. It offered exactly what we wanted - refined class and total tranquility. We returned from Mexico last week after spending 21 days in your country, the last few at Las Palapas. I might wish we had found you earlier but then we would have missed many sights and experiences ! Our brief visit was magical, from the ginger cat on our balcony (who adopted us because we brought him ham from our breakfast !!) to happy hour on the beach every night. I also had the privilage of meeting Willi (the swiss brother of one of the owners)and made sand patterns on the beach with him !!!! Our family of 4 stayed at Las Palapas in August of 2000. The hotel is clean, intimate and beaiful, and the staff is simply awesome. Having travelled exensively in the Caribbean, this was our first trip to Mexico. The people at Las Palapas as well as Playa del Carmen were wonderful. We felt safe and appreciated everywhere we went. The area is beautiful as well: Steeped in natural beauty as well as history. We WILL go again this year if luck stays on our side. We had an enjoyable and comfortable stay at Palapas. My wife for a long time has romanticized about hammocks. Throw in lush tropical vegetation, exotic birds, and sea breezes and she is forever hooked. We will recommend Las Palapas to our friends. It certainly beats staying in a high-rise in Cancun by a lot.
